A Coco Themed Deck

A Coco Themed Deck

October 15, 2026

Elevate your game with musicians, songs, and an ancestral guitar.

Hello Illumineers! I’m Brennan DeCandio, a member of the Ravensburger Development and Design team. I’m thrilled to share what I think is a fun deck using one of the new stories we’re bringing to Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game, Disney and Pixar’s Coco!

In Hyperia City, Coco cards go big on discard, songs, and Singers. I’m going to focus on the singer side of things here since that’s my forte! This isn’t quite the Amber/Steel songs deck of old, as Ruby now joins the fray here. Because of this, we get access to a lot more Singers than in Steel, and perhaps my new favorite high-rolling singer glimmer, Héctor Rivera!

Héctor glimmers come at us in all different flavors in this set but are unified by a love for singing and songs in the discard pile! Héctor Rivera – Worldwide Sensation paws through your deck and helps find just the song to help power forward to an overwhelming singing advantage. If you look closely at the card, you’ll notice there is something unique to his Big Hit ability. While that ability is great at finding a song to play for free, it also puts the remaining cards it sees into our discard, not the bottom of the deck! Why might that be good for us?

When I mentioned Coco having synergies with discard, these are some of the tools you’ll find in Hyperia City that complement those strategies. With Miguel Rivera – Accomplished Musician able to return any character from the discard back to your hand, it’s actually advantageous to have a stocked discard pile to pull from! No Miguel glimmer? No problem! Pepita – Imelda’s Right Hand doesn’t care about having certain types or specific cards in your discard; she just cares that you have at least ten cards there, which gives you a huge bonus!

Of course, who could forget the song, Remember Me? When you’re spending the game putting cards into your discard, or if you’re unfortunate enough to have many early characters already banished, who wouldn’t love to play them back from your discard? The Remember Me song card has several unique applications beyond the Coco theme, but it fits just fine here. There’s even a sneaky copy of Hercules – Young Rescuer from Wilds Unknown thrown into this deck you can bring back with Remember Me . . . and then play Hercules to return Remember Me to your hand!

While the rest of the deck is comprised of a smattering of songs, we can’t forget the villain.

Ancestral Guitar is a card that helps some of your less “vocal” Héctor and Miguel character cards sing even more. However, it can serve another function. Ernesto de la Cruz – Ruthless Musician is a good addition to your deck if you think that you’ll run into opponents playing singer decks. By combining Ernesto de la Cruz with Ancestral Guitar, you can make any character a Singer for this villain glimmer to banish!

There are countless other possibilities in Hyperia City, and I’m excited to see what you come up with. Whether it’s using a variation of what I’ve shared or something entirely your own, happy inkcasting!
