Plenty of new song cards appear in Winterspell

Ask any Disney Lorcana TCG player what makes the gameplay special, and song cards are bound to be one of the first things mentioned. Each card features a beloved song title or lyric, gorgeous artwork, and unique gameplay allowing you to exert a character to have them “sing” the song card rather than pay the cost. With all of the winter cheer in the upcoming Winterspell set, we filled the set with some great songs. Let’s look at song cards from each ink!

Of course, we need to start off by mentioning the return of Let It Go! Let It Go has been one of Sapphire’s strongest removal options since The First Chapter. This is an alternate art version featuring a Floodborn version of Elsa featured in Winterspell. This also means that Let It Go is back in rotation, so copies of previous versions, including the Challenge version of Let It Go can be used again in Core Constructed play starting with the Prerelease of Winterspell. Also returning is Strike a Good Match, the song from Disney’s Mulan first featured in Into the Inklands, giving Emerald back a strong card filtering option that saw lots of play prior to rotation in Emerald based song decks.

Speaking of Mulan, another lyric from the song “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” is featured, Force of a Great Typhoon. This song allows you to give chosen character +5 Strength this turn, allowing your characters with lower strength to bulk up to be sure to win any challenge. You can even use it on opposing characters if you need to make them bigger to combo with other card effects… you know what they say, sometimes the bigger they are the harder they fall.

This set also features the introduction of Angel from Disney’s Lilo & Stitch: The Series, who has the ability to influence Jumba’s experiments with her songs! Akood Et Emuti turns experiments good from evil! In Disney Lorcana, you can use her Amber song to pay 2 less for the next character you play this turn and draw a card… sure seems pretty good!

Lastly, two of the franchises new to Disney Lorcana in Winterspell, Disney’s Darkwing Duck and Disney’s Pocahontas, feature two incredibly beloved songs.

Let’s Get Dangerous is a Steel song card that does just what the name implies. Both players shuffle their deck and reveal the top card of their deck, and each player that reveals a character card can play that character card for free. Anyone who wants to get dangerous can get rewarded with a free character glimmer, but will need to be ready to take on whatever challenge might come their way.

Last but certainly not least is Colors of the Wind, an Amethyst song with card draw that rewards choices in deck building in a way that hasn’t been seen before in Disney Lorcana! Each player reveals the top card of their deck. You draw a card for each different ink type among the cards revealed this way. Take a moment to appreciate the differences between you and your opponent, if each shows a different ink in a 1 on 1 game, you’d draw two cards. If one of you shows a dual-ink, you could end up drawing three cards, or even four if both players show dual ink cards with different ink types! In a multiplayer match, this card could even end up drawing six under the right circumstances!

We hope you’re excited about the song cards coming in Winterspell. Prerelease events for Winterspell start February 13. Find one near you on tcg.RavensburgerPlay.com!
