Disney Lorcana TCG World Championship Format

  • Saturday, June 28th

  • Rounds 1 through 3 - Super Sealed

  • Players will be provided with the following product:

  • 4 packs of Shimmering Skies

  • 4 packs of Azurite Sea

  • 4 packs of Archazia’s Island

  • 4 packs of Reign of Jafar

  • Players will have 60 minutes to construct a three (3) ink-color restricted, 50-card sealed deck, which will be used to play the first three (3) rounds of Best-of-Three (Bo3).

  • Players are allowed to change cards (“sideboard”) in their deck in between games in the match as long as they are within the initially submitted ink-color trio.

  • Players MUST revert back to their initially submitted deck after each round and before the start of the next match.

  • Day 1 (Rounds 4 to 7) Triple Deck

  • At the start of the event, Players are provided dual-ink tokens representing the ink pairs of their decks.

  • This will be an Open Deck list event.

  • Deck lists will be due Thursday, June 26th

  • Players will have a 5-minute review period to review the opponents’ three (3) decks.

  • Once the review period ends, players present their in-pair tokens to their opponents.

  • Players first roll a die to determine who has the option to go first in game one.

  • Each player, in secret, selects one of the opponents in-pairs face down to “bench” which are then revealed simultaneously.

  • Then, Players return the ink tokens to their owners, who, also in secret, select which of the two remaining decks is to be played in game one. Deck selections are revealed, and the first game begins.

  • After game one, the loser has the option to switch their deck to the other remaining deck to play for game two or they can play the same deck they lost with game one. They also have the option of who goes first in game two.

  • The losing player must announce if they’re switching decks before game two begins.

  • The player who won game one must win with their remaining non-benched deck to win the match.

  • If the player who lost game one wins games two, a third and deciding game is played with the remaining decks on both sides to see who wins the match.

  • A player wins the match when they win a game with both non-benched decks.

  • Sunday, June 29th (Single Elimination) Triple Deck

  • The Option of Play vs. Draw is determined by seeding in the Swiss, and the round a player is advanced from. If players advanced to Day 2 in the same Swiss round, they roll for the option.

  • Day 2 will feature Triple-Deck, Best of Three (Bo3), following the same rules as Day 1.

  • The Grand Finals will be Triple-Deck, Best of Five (Bo5). You must play the same decks that you submitted at the beginning of the tournament, but there is no “Bench” phase. Players must win with all three decks which will be winning with all six ink colors.

Notes:

  • No intentional draws allowed

  • Players advance to Day 2 when they have reached five (5) match wins. Once a player advances, they no longer play any remaining Swiss rounds. At the end of the seven (7) rounds, if eight (8) players have not advanced, the highest-seeded players from the standings advance until we have 8 total players.

  • Players must have all six ink types represented in their three decks, with no overlapping inks. (You must master all six inks in order to become a World Champion!) For example, you could have Ruby-Amethyst, Sapphire-Steel, and Emerald-Amber but not an Emerald-Amber and an Emerald-Steel deck as two of your three decks.
